An additional 12 countries have been granted visa exemption for entry into Vietnam starting from August 15.
The government has decided to grant visa exemptions for citizens of 12 countries entering Vietnam starting from August 15, with a temporary stay of 45 days, in order to stimulate tourism. On August 11, the government issued Resolution No.229 on the visa exemption program for tourism development for citizens of 12 countries, including: the Kingdom of Belgium, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Kingdom of Netherlands, the Republic of Poland, Romania, the Republic of Slovakia, the Republic of Slovenia, and the Swiss Confederation. Citizens of these countries entering Vietnam for tourism purposes can stay for 45 days, regardless of passport type. The visa exemption policy is effective from August 15, 2025, to August 14, 2028. Earlier in March, the government unilaterally extended visa exemptions for citizens of 12 countries. Thus, as of now, Vietnam unilaterally grants visa exemptions to citizens of 24 countries.

According to statistics from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in the first 7 months of 2025, international visitors to Vietnam reached 12.2 million arrivals, an increase of 22% compared to the same period in 2024.
