Recently, the travel magazine Time Out (UK) announced that Vietnam is on the list of the 20 most ideal winter destinations in the world for 2025-2026.

In Time Out’s list, Vietnam is ranked “Best for food” – an ideal winter destination for food-loving travelers. The magazine emphasizes that Vietnam is not only diverse with traditional dishes, but also extremely accessible, from street food stalls to high-end restaurants, at reasonable prices.

Time Out describes Vietnam as a destination with a rich and distinctive culinary scene that can please any visitor. Travelers “can enjoy great food everywhere,” from street stalls to fine dining restaurants, with affordable prices and unforgettable flavors.

Not only savory dishes, but Hanoi in winter is also associated with hot sweet soups like cassava sweet soup, coconut milk sweet soup, or glutinous rice balls in ginger syrup. CNN once included glutinous rice balls in ginger syrup in its list of “unique winter desserts in Asia,” highlighting the blend of the warm taste of ginger and the chewy texture of glutinous rice flour as a “little hug” on cold days.
