India – A potential market to increase the number of international tourists to Vietnam.
Following the tourism promotion activities for Vietnam in India, on the afternoon of September 9 (local time), a program to introduce Vietnamese tourism and connect businesses took place in Hyderabad – one of the dynamic economic, cultural, and tourism centers of India. The program was led by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in collaboration with the Tourism Development Support Fund, the Vietnam National Music and Dance Theater, and the Culture Newspaper.
In the opening speech, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Pham Van Thuy stated that tourism is a bright spot in the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and India. In recent years, Vietnam has emerged as an attractive destination for Indian tourists. Vietnam welcomed 392,000 Indian visitors in 2023 and is projected to host 507,000 in 2024. In the first eight months of 2025, there were 443,000 Indian visitors to Vietnam, an increase of 42.2% compared to the same period in 2024. The positive growth results of Indian tourists affirm the increasing appeal of Vietnam, while also opening up tremendous cooperation potential between the two sides in the tourism sector.
The highlight of the program is the large participation of nearly 30 Vietnamese travel companies along with about 200 delegates representing many travel companies from India. Here, the businesses from both countries have many direct exchange sessions (B2B) to update policies, new products, and promotions, while also introducing the destination system and unique experiences of Vietnamese tourism. Vietnamese companies brought attractive gifts for their Indian partners attending the program.
