The Dong Van Karst Plateau was honored internationally for the third consecutive time
The Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark has just been awarded the title of ‘Leading Regional Cultural Destination in Asia 2025’.
On the evening of October 13, in Hong Kong (China), the 2025 World Travel Awards (WTA) for the Asia and Oceania region took place.
The UNESCO Global Geopark Dong Van Karst Plateau was awarded the title of “Asia’s Leading Cultural Destination 2025.”
This is one of the most prestigious categories of the World Travel Awards (WTA), aimed at honoring destinations that have achieved outstanding accomplishments in preserving indigenous culture, developing sustainable tourism, and protecting natural ecosystems.
Previously, the Dong Van Karst Plateau had been recognized by the WTA for two consecutive years with the titles “Asia’s Leading Emerging Travel Destination 2023” and “Asia’s Leading Regional Cultural Destination 2024.”
The Dong Van Karst Plateau stretches over an area of more than 2,345 km², encompassing 23 communes. It is home to geological strata dating back over 500 million years, with hundreds of unique geological, paleontological, geomorphological, and karst landscape heritage sites.
