Vietnam tourism has welcomed nearly 14 million international visitors.
According to the data recently published by the General Statistics Office, the number of international visitors to Vietnam in August 2025 reached 1.68 million arrivals, an increase of 16.5% compared to the same period last year. For the first 8 months of 2025, the total number of international visitors reached nearly 14 million arrivals, a rise of 21.7% compared to the same period in 2024.
Notably, the number of visitors in August 2025 increased by 7.8% compared to the previous month. Although it is still the low season for international tourism, the positive growth results in July and August have shown promising signals for the inbound tourism market.
In August 2025, international visitors to Vietnam reached over 13.9 million arrivals, an increase of 21.7% compared to the same period last year. The growth impetus came from Europe (up 33.2%), Asia (up 21.3%), Australia (up 14%), the Americas (up 9.1%), and Africa (up 4.7%). Major markets recorded high growth rates, including China (+44.3%), Japan (+17.1%), India (+42.2%), and Cambodia (+50.7%). Notably, the Russian market continued to grow very rapidly (+164.9%). The remarkable development of the Russian visitor market is a result of promotion and tourism promotion programs in Russia by the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, localities, and businesses in recent times. Southeast Asian markets showed good growth: the Philippines (+93.4%), Cambodia (+50.7%), Laos (+33.1%), Indonesia (+13.1%), Malaysia (+9.8%), Singapore (+9.4%), and Thailand (+8.1%).
The Indian market has also been continuously growing, reflecting the great potential of this market. This September, the Vietnam National Tourism Administration is organizing a tourism promotion program in the cities of Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The program is held to strengthen and enhance the presence of Vietnamese tourism in the Indian market, creating a forum for businesses to connect and expand cooperation with Indian tourism partners, thus promoting tourism exchanges between the two countries.European markets continued to grow strongly in the first eight months of the year. Most markets have seen positive growth, including major markets such as the UK (+21.8%), France (+22.6%), and Germany (+17.9%).
